I took advantage of an unseasonably warm day today to, ironically, put on my winter wheels. I painted them dark gray this year ... badly ... and had some new General Altimax Artics mounted. They were like 35% cheaper than another set of Blizzaks, so hopefully they don’t suck.

92 degrees in LA today. Perfect day for a drive in the mountains.

Yeah. I quite enjoyed our last two mild winters. I have a feeling we’re going to get hammered this year. I hopefully will be wrong.

I have used those tires on my cars for the past two years and they have performed very well. I live in wisconsin and commute about 100 miles round trip for work. Those tires have always gotten me through the snow.

Great tires. I’ve had them on 2 GTIs and an Odyssey. No problems at all in a New England winter, and nice and stable at the 90mph the ones on my GTI are rated for.

Great to hear, thanks! I’m in Chicagoland, so we get similar winters, usually a bit less snow than you guys. I put Alitimax RT43's on a couple cars, and was really happy with them, so I took a chance.

Awesome! Thanks! I was happy with the Altimax RT43's I put on a couple other cars, so I figured these were a gamble worth taking.

Winter is descending. We’ve had two mild ones in a row, so I’ve got a feeling were due to take a beating this year.

i’m really hoping we have mild winters for another 4 years, Lord knows i can’t afford winter tires and even though i’m mildly curious, i’d rather not try out my new all seasons

You’ll be fine. Just drive carefully. I’ve always enjoyed driving in snow, so I’ve done a lot of it over the past 20 years. This is only my second set of winter tires. I did five Chicago winters in 2wd S-10’s with open diffs and all seasons. Only got stuck once.
